These easy DIY Bats are the perfect fun Halloween decor! You can use this wooden bat decor for effortless fall porch decorations, fun centerpieces or additions to your favorite wreath!

  • 2 x 6 Lumber

Instructions

  • Using a spray can top trace a circle that extends off the edge of the board, the flat side will be the stand.
  • Once the board is secured use a jigsaw to cut the bats free of the board.
  • Now sand the edges to cleanup any areas that don’t suit you, I used a belt sander anchored in a vice.

  • Paint the pieces with several coats of black paint.

  • First cut a template for the wings then trace it to a foam sheet and cut the wings. I first tried a utility knife but scissors did a much better job.

  • Using the template as a base place the foam wings on the template. Apply glue to the wings, then place the bat body to the wings. The template helps speed the assembly process.
  • Create a face to your liking and you are finished. I used googly eyes and a paint marker to create the faces.
