What ingredients do you need for Roasted Radishes?
These little low carb gems require only three ingredients aside from salt and pepper. You can customize this based on your preferences including adding fresh herbs or your favorite spices but as written this is an excellent base recipe for perfect roasted radishes!
- 1 bunch of fresh radishes
- Good quality extra virgin olive oil
- Minced garlic
- Salt and Pepper
How do you make the perfect Keto Roasted Radishes?
Begin by washing and removing the stems from the radishes. Slice in half lengthwise and place in a mixing bowl. Combine with olive oil, minced garlic, salt and pepper. Stir very well until completely covered. Place the radishes cut side down on a baking sheet. Roast at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes until crisp and tender. Remove the pan once half way through cooking and shake the radishes so they cook evenly.
As you know, radishes can vary a lot in size. Some are quite tiny while others are large and round. Your cooking time may be a little longer if you have an entire bunch of very large radishes. They are done when the outside has become crisp and they are fork tender.
Do Roasted Radishes taste like potatoes?
As a carb lover I can tell you there is no perfect substitute for potatoes, but these roasted radishes are very close! When eaten raw radishes have a peppery bite, but when roasted it mellows nicely and takes on the flavor of whatever seasoning you add. In this recipe they are seasoned simply with olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper and tastes almost exactly like a little red roasted potato!
