I recently purchased a new Ford Hybrid Maverick. I waited for this gem for over a year from the order to buy date. I loved the look of the interior, but with grandkids and dogs, I felt the need to invest in protective seat covers. I want to keep this little beauty looking good for a long time.
I haven’t done a lot of product reviews; however, after looking for product reviews for this particular vehicle model, it became apparent that there aren’t many reviews for anything regarding the Ford Maverick, as it is a new model. In that light, I thought my experience might be helpful.
The Process:
I began by shopping for seat covers online and reading every review I could find. I perused reviews from cheaper alternatives on Amazon to custom-made covers from premium vehicle websites. The prices ranged from $75 to several hundred dollars. I researched materials: leather, faux leather, cloth, neoprene, corduroy, mesh, nylon, poly-cotton, polyester, canvas, etc.
The Product:
I finally settled on a cover made of a material called Cordura, which is made of a high-tenacity nylon yarn. It is resistant to tears, punctures, and abrasions. It isn’t water-proof, but it is water-resistant. It sounded like just the material I needed for the things I would eventually put this truck through. I wanted the best fit possible and a color that would look good with my Area 51 color (blue-gray), so I went with custom-made covers from RealTruck.com.

Installed seat covers:
I love the look and feel of the material. It is heavy-duty enough to feel strong and resilient but flexible enough to mold well and look almost factory-installed. Of course, I loved my truck’s original material and hated covering the chic-looking seats. Still, these covers look so nice that it made it a bit easier to follow through with my commitment to properly caring for my new investment.
The Pros:
With these covers, I am confident that throwing in tools, hauling materials for honey-do projects, sharing produce from my garden, etc, can be done without damaging my truck seats.
Because the Ford Maverick is a new model, I was worried that generic seat covers might not fit to my liking, so I bit the bullet and went with the custom-made covers. I don’t know if that worry is justified or not. If there are any cons regarding these seats, I can’t imagine what they would be. Choosing custom-made covers was more expensive, and these covers cost more than I originally wanted to spend, but I’m not disappointed in the quality or fit of the product.

The Paraphrase:
If you need light protection and want to protect your seats from the daily use of transportation, you can find suitable, cheaper alternatives. If your truck is going to be used for the everyday things that people use trucks for, anywhere from hauling items to dedicated work trucks, then these covers can provide adequate protection.
