- 2 x 6 lumber
- Speed square
- Jig saw
- Drill
- Black Paint
- Paint Brush
- Sander
- Paint Pen
- Glue
- Pipe cleaner
- 12 gauge wire
- Googly Eyes
How do you make Halloween Spiders?
You can find step by step photos and instructions below, as well as a video tutorial to guide you through the process. But for a general overview this process is broken down to six simple steps.
- Trace the body for the spider on the 2×6 lumber, I used the lid of a spray paint bottle. Once you have traced the bodies secure your lumber to your work top. Using a jig saw, carefully cut the bodies out.
- Sand the body for a smooth finish, if you wish.
- Spray paint the bats black and wait for them to dry completely.
- Drill 4 holes on each side of the spider body.
- Cut 8 pieces of wire and wrap with the black pipe cleaners to form the legs. Glue the legs in place.
- Add the eyes and draw a face for the bat using the paint pen.
