Treat your guests to the best and rustle up some smooth and chocolatey hot cocoa for your holiday gatherings this year. A cosy hot cocoa buffet is the perfect, unique addition to any Christmas party.

Alternatively, simply treat yourself or the family to a cozy night in with this extra luxurious beverage, ideal for warming up in front of a board game on a cold winterโ€™s evening. In fact, at this time of year, thereโ€™s never a wrong opportunity for a nourishing mug of hot cocoa.

Ingredients in Slow Cooker Hot Chocolate

  • Milk
  • Heavy cream
  • Cocoa powder
  • Sugar
  • Chocolate chips
  • Vanilla extract

Will the milk curdle in Slow Cooker Hot Chocolate?

No! Because the heat is kept at such a low temperature, you neednโ€™t worry about a curdling catastrophe. The temperature is low enough it isn’t actually cooking anything, it is just warm enough to melt the chocolate and heat the milk to a nice, cozy temperature. Just be sure to stir your hot cocoa occasionally to achieve that gorgeous silky-smooth texture.

What are some hot chocolate toppings?

Opt for the classic hot chocolate toppings with whipped cream and marshmallows, or why not try something new?

Crushed candy and peppermint are great ideas if youโ€™re after a twist on this traditional Christmas drink, or for extra holiday vibes, why not sprinkle on some cinnamon or candied ginger?

If youโ€™re a coffee lover, you can also add a shot or two of espresso for the ultimate festivity-friendly pick-me-up!
